Undergraduate Engineering Intern

Position Summary:    

As an Undergraduate Engineering Intern at SpaceFactory, you will dive into a fast-paced, innovative environment where you will support the development and testing of pioneering technologies and materials. This is a unique opportunity to gain extensive hands-on experience, contributing directly to projects that push the boundaries of traditional engineering and manufacturing practices. Please note: this is an in-person role based in Huntsville, Alabama. Applicants must be U.S. persons.

What you’ll do:    

  • Assist SpaceFactory engineers in building and testing prototypes.

  • Assemble equipment and conduct experimental tests under supervision.

  • Participate in NASA-related research and development, focusing on the practical applications of our technologies.

  • Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions and contribute to problem-solving sessions.

  • Support ongoing projects with design, analysis, and implementation of technical solutions.

What you have:  

The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering) from an accredited U.S. university.

  • Rising Sophomore or Junior with a strong academic record.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen (required for participation in Space-related R&D projects).

  • Past experience with, and a desire to, work hands-on with physical projects.

  • Curious about new challenges and willing to work outside your comfort zone.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and taking initiative in the face of unanticipated problems.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
